Discovery Corners
At Teddy Kids, students are encouraged to play, discover and learn within the following areas.
Simulated Play Corner

Learning aids used- costumes, puppets, dollhouses and role-play. Group activities allow children to develop social skills that encourage cooperation, communication and sharing. Children mimic the social roles they see in their surrounding environment.

Creative Corner

Learning aids used - crayons, markers, paint, glue, collage material and clay. Motor skills are enhanced along with activities such as cutting, painting, rolling and molding clay. This also augments hand-eye coordination. Through these experiences children are at an advantage in writing, science and drawing their own conclusions.

Expressive Corner

Learning aids used- Puppets, books, flash cards and props.

Activities such as storytelling, puppetry, singing, viewing picture books and usage of flash cards develops reading and language skills. Children are drawn into conversation and are encouraged to express their feelings and thoughts thereby developing communication skills.

Audio-Visual Corner

Teaching aids used - Musical instruments, CDs, song books Music and moving the body informally provides children with a physical outlet for their energy. Soothing music will bring about a sense of calm, whereas dance will help children develop motor skills.

Edificial Corner

Teaching aids used - puzzles, stringing beads, building blocks. These teaching aids encourage logical and problem solving ability. Arithmetic and motor skills are developed with activities such as stacking blocks, pegboards and stringing beads. This teaches children to classify, measure, match and count.

Sand Pit /Splash Pool Area

Children understand concepts like gravity through usage of funnels, objects that sink and float. Shovels and pails in the sand pit develop finger texturity along with sharing, social skills and creativity.

Library

Touch and feel books, big picture books, story books and coloring books set-up in a cozy corner promotes reading, comprehension, expressive and concentrative skills.

Outdoor Area

Our abundant, safe, non-toxic outdoor equipment inclusive of slides, climbers, swings, rockers, see-saws, coupe cars and tunnels engage children in physical activities. This promotes overall physical development along with sharing, cooperation and quality sportsmanship.
